Fragile Not Durable

I purchased DuPont Quartz (Zodiaq) installed in my renovated kitchen. Before we even moved in, the counter had a chip in it. Within 2 weeks there was a second. Installer came out and said that's normal. DuPont said that's NORMAL and to expect MORE. They were correct, We've averaged one chip/scratch per month and have had the counter for 18 months. DuPont refused to send a warranty specialist to see the issue. They then "sent" a letter that we never got, that stated, "Thank you for letting our technician into your home...we determined your issue not to be under warranty." Their claim that their quartz is durable is false advertising. It is fragile! DO NOT BUY DuPont Corian Quartz!

User's recommendation: Do not buy DuPont Corian Quartz!

Need a roll of tyvek to make 30 hospital gowns

Your firm shut down the phone number. How is someone to reach a live person especially at a time like this when we are all grappling? We need tyvek to make 30k impervious hospital gowns and was hoping to acquire butt rolls or whatever we could get that would fit the bill. We don't have 3 days for you to respond.

User's recommendation: Keep your phone lines open.

Advion by DuPont for cockroaches

The greatest product on the market for roaches is Advion by DuPont. It comes in tubes that you apply throughout the house - I find it best to put some more down every 3-4 months to keep roaches from coming back. The reason many exterminators don't use this amazing product is because you would no longer need their services if they put down Advion for their customers. Get it on Amazon for about $7 per tube. No matter how bad your roach problem, Advion can fix it ! It is also available in a different formulation for ants. THE best product available is ADVION by DuPont. I tried everything else in the past and came across Advion about 5 years ago. My neighbors now use it too and neither of us have a roach problem anymore !

Polybutaline PB pipes manufactured by Dupont

In 1980 and 1990s Dupont manufactured polybutaline pipes which were used throughout the Carolinas and Florida, and I also think Nevada. We have had our house since 1989 and had 2 problems with water leakage. Especially with hot water pipes. The manufaturer had claims on this issue, but none of the builders notified their clients and we were not aware until now that these leaks (all over the house and especially in the walls) has been caused with these pipes which deteriotes with chemicals and temperature. My neighbor had water leak in her crawl space for 3 months (during winter she did not even have any heat- (water pump), water leak in the laundry room, in the bathroom and in the closet where the water heater was. This was enormous hassle and she is a widow with no help. Who would be responsible to put such a thing without any testing, I think the manufaturer guarantees for 'Life". I wonder whose Life was guaranteed.

Another fine mess you've gotten us into!!!!

In June of 2007,I purchased a modest home in Sacramento California. I searched and researched new flooring and decided on Dupont Stainmaster carpet. It's suposed to stand up to traffic and stains and keep its looks for years...or at least that's what the commercials, ads, salespeople, and the brochures all say. Well they don't tell the truth. I have had the carpets professional (steam truck-mounted) cleaned 3 times and my carpets look TERRIBLE. The twist is untwisting, to the point that areas of the carpet look like they are stained after cleaning. The carpet lies flat in areas and no amount of raking, vacuuming or fluffing will make it stand up. Where the carpet has not been walked on it looks great Closets, under furniture, etc,)but everywhere else it looks like ***. I am so unhappy. Unfortunately the flooring store has been a victim of the recession and has gone belly up. So I am left with hideous carpet. Look out when you buy carpet. And I advise you to stay away from Stainmaster.

Dupont - false advertising, breach of warranty and bad faith resolution

Based on DuPont's internet advertising and a sample of its "Crema Marfil" Zodiaq countertop, my wife and I purchased, through DuPont's licensed retailer and wholesaler, new countertops. The product is represented as being beige in color with marble-like veining throughout. When the countertops were installed, however, they did not resemble the advertisement or sample. The installed product is almost entirely solid in color with a few disparate patches that look like stains. We complained to DuPont. DuPont sent an unprofessional, biased contractor to inspect and write up a report that, DuPont claims, supports its denial of coverage under its warranty. DuPont has refused to provide a copy of this report despite repeated requests. DuPont is seeking to hide behind an inconspicuous disclaimer that the color and pattern may not be identicial to the advertising or sample. The product we received, however, does not even resemble the advertising or sample. I believe that DuPont has false and misleading advertising, is in breach of its warranty and is acting in bad faith in resolving our claim. I am an attorney and would be very interested in hearing from anyone else who may have had a similar experience -- particularly with the "Crema Marfil" Zodiaq product. I am contemplating commencing formal legal action against DuPont and if there are others that are similarly situated to my wife and me, I will consider bringing the action on behalf of all such persons. If you are in a similar situation, please describe your situation in an e-mail to me. My e-mail address is jkrenitsky@***.com. Thank you.

I am glad that you wrote this review. I have the same product and am very unhappy with it.

It looks like someone spattered used (black) cooking oil on it. When I commented to the kitchen store where it was purchased, I was told that I would not even notice the blotches once I had things on my counter top!

It had never crossed my mind that I would be spending all this money and then be expected to spread things around on my counter to try to cover the blotches! I have also contacted DuPont to no avail.
